Virtual reality for medical technology and pharma

Practice Procedures and Explain Products, Without a Patient or an Operating Room

Medical devices cannot be demonstrated at a trade show booth, and procedures cannot be practiced as often as needed in daily work. In virtual reality, both are possible.

Typical tasks

Where VR helps in medicine and pharma

  1. Training procedures

Physicians practice steps and workflows in the virtual operating room as often as they like. With hand tracking, without controllers.

  2. Demonstrating products

Sales shows devices in their setting, even where no device can be set up.

  3. Training professionals

A short game at the booth tests advisory knowledge and is remembered.

  4. Informing patients

A virtual tour explains a condition and its treatment, in the browser and on the VR headset.

Example: Medtronic

Surgical training with hand tracking

For Medtronic, we developed 360° videos of surgical procedures and an interactive surgery simulator.

Both are used to train surgeons and in sales.

Frequently asked questions

How much does a VR project cost?

That depends on what the application needs to do. We publish prices for offers with a fixed scope: 360° video, 360° tours, 3D exhibits, showrooms and recruiting packages are listed under Packages and pricing. Custom applications such as VR training and simulations almost always start with a prototype and then grow in stages, over months or years. We quote a price as soon as we know your plans. So far we have stayed within the quoted budget on every project.
