VR Applications That Hold Up in Everyday Use

Since 2016, we have been developing virtual reality and 360° video for companies and public institutions in Germany. A good application is one your employees and customers can use without instructions and know more afterward than before. Where it fits, it runs not only in the VR headset but also on tablets, touchscreens and in the browser.

Tim B. Frank wears a Meta Quest 3 and controls the application with bare hands, no controllers, while the person opposite laughs and watches

One project, several devices

Built for the VR headset, used without one too

We are an agency for virtual reality and 360°. But what we build in 3D does not stop at the headset. Where it makes sense, you use the same application on several devices and pay for development only once.

  1. VR headset

The full effect: users stand in the middle of the action and operate the machine, plant or workplace themselves.

Training, trade show booth, customer meeting

  2. Tablet and touchscreen

Interactive 3D applications also run on a tablet, for anyone who does not want to put on a headset.

    Trade show booth, lobby, showroom

  3. Browser

Via link on laptops and phones, without an app. That way, the same application reaches customers and candidates all year round.

Our approach

As individual as custom work, as fast as a prefabricated house

There are off-the-shelf VR training products and do-it-yourself VR kits. We deliberately chose a different path, because both have a problem: they either fall short or are too rigid.

A VR headset rests on a workbench in a training workshop
  1. Off-the-shelf training

For standard cases such as fire extinguisher practice, it is enough. For everything else, it often does not fit the company. The application is then used only to a limited extent or dropped again soon.

    Problem: too rigid

  2. Construction kits

Configuring it yourself sounds good but rarely works out in practice the way you expect. Custom orders usually follow, and costs rise after the fact.

    Problem: more expensive than planned

  3. Our app foundation

We have developed an app foundation made up of many individual elements and, over ten years, built a large library of objects and functions. From these, we create an application that fits you exactly, in a short time. One example: for the Hamburg Port Authority, we recreated their own building this way so that employees can practice evacuation from their own desks.

    Result: individual, fast, predictable

Questions about VR projects

How much does a VR project cost?

That depends on what the application needs to do. We publish prices for offers with a fixed scope: 360° video, 360° tours, 3D exhibits, showrooms and recruiting packages are listed under Packages and pricing. Custom applications such as VR training and simulations almost always start with a prototype and then grow in stages, over months or years. We quote a price as soon as we know your plans. So far we have stayed within the quoted budget on every project.

How long does a VR project take?

A simple VR application takes 6 to 12 weeks, an interactive simulation 2 to 4 months. Complex simulations take at least 3 months.

Does the application run without a VR headset?

Often, yes. On request, we set up interactive 3D applications so that they also run on tablets, touchscreens and in the browser. Where a task works differently in the headset than on a screen, we adapt the controls. We show 360° videos in the VR headset and on websites.

Which hardware do you develop for?

We develop independently of hardware and support all common VR and MR headsets. Most projects run on the Meta Quest 3. We also develop for Apple Vision Pro, Samsung Galaxy XR and other devices built on the Android XR standard, Pico 4 Ultra Enterprise, HTC Vive Focus Vision, Varjo XR-4 and AR glasses such as the XREAL One.

Do I have to buy the hardware?

No. For applications we have developed, we lend out headsets. We still recommend owning one or two devices.

What technical requirements do we need to meet?

For most projects, none. If the application needs the internet, Wi-Fi access is enough. It helps to have one person who takes care of cleaning, charging and updating the headsets.

How much work is a VR project for us as the client?

You need one contact person who answers questions and approves interim results.

Can VR applications include an AI avatar?

Yes. On request, we build in an avatar that users can talk to freely. It answers from the knowledge you give it, in many languages.
