Product Presentation on the “Wald des Wissens” Virtual Discovery Trail

For Chiesi, we built the virtual discovery trail “Wald des Wissens.” Information boards and a media library give asthma patients knowledge about a medication.

We delivered this project for Chiesi through the agency medpublico. The pharmaceutical company, which makes an important medication for asthma patients, realized that a conventional website was not enough to convey its product and why it matters. Instead, the company wanted to tell a story, and that is how the idea for a virtual discovery trail came about: the “Wald des Wissens” (Forest of Knowledge). Here, visitors can explore the information in an interactive, playful way.

Why a forest?

Asthma patients know all too well how hard pollen season can be in a green, natural setting. This is exactly where the concept of the forest trail comes in: the story of the medication is told where it is needed most, in a landscape of forests and meadows, surrounded by grasses and trees, where pollen is everywhere. That is why we created an entire virtual forest with a mountain landscape on the computer.

For visitors, this means they can experience the forest interactively. They walk along a trail and come across various information boards along the way that offer useful information about the product and how to use it in a playful way. The whole thing feels less like a typical product presentation and more like a relaxing vacation walk through nature.

An experience that delights

The “Wald des Wissens” not only brings the information closer to users but also makes learning fun. The visuals and interactive elements let them fully immerse themselves in the experience. Each click on one of the boards opens compact blocks of information with images, videos, or explanations. This way, attention is asked for in small bites, and everyone can move on at their own pace, just as you would on a walk.

Information boards instead of endless walls of text

We made a point of presenting the information in a way that doesn’t overwhelm anyone. Instead of scrolling through long texts, the information boards offer short, easy-to-understand content. Stroll a few meters through the virtual forest and you have reached the next board. It feels almost like taking a break on vacation. The interactivity and the playful element help people take in and remember the important information easily.

More than just a virtual tour

The “Wald des Wissens” offers far more than a simple panoramic tour. A log cabin, which visitors can also enter on the tour, houses a media library: pictures hang on the walls, and clicking on one plays the matching video. Here you will find everything you need to know about the medication and how to use it, set in a cozy environment that rounds off the experience.

Compatible and easy to use

To make sure the “Wald des Wissens” can be used from anywhere, we made it work on all common devices, whether on a desktop or a smartphone. If you like, you can also explore the trail with a VR headset and immerse yourself even more deeply in the virtual nature.

It couldn’t be easier to use: a single click with the mouse or a tap of the finger is all it takes to move along the trail. The tour was designed so that anyone can find their way around immediately, with no technical know-how.

An experience you won’t forget

The virtual discovery trail “Wald des Wissens” combines a vacation feeling with useful information in a unique way. It shows that learning can be fun and gives asthma patients, medical professionals, and anyone else who is interested a completely new way to engage with an important topic.
